Cubs Need
Outdoor Space
The Phase 1 Facility Plan for “Bexley’s Next 100 years,” would turn Central Bexley into a green space desert.
This hurts our school, our property values, and most importantly our kids.
Inequity Between Elementary Campuses
Montrose: Enhanced field to ensure year-round access to expanded outdoor playfield for approximately 330 elementary students.
Maryland: Enhanced field to ensure year-round access to expanded outdoor playfield for approximately 330 elementary students.
Cassingham: 70% reduction of the outdoor playfield for approximately 500 elementary students (and shared with Bexley MS and HS).
No Open Space in Central Bexley
There are no alternative outdoor spaces within walking distance of Cassingham. Kids would need to walk 20+ minutes across major roads.
Home Values and Neighborhood Desirability
Central Bexley would be unwalkable to any open space.
As one of the only suburban neighborhoods without access to basic outdoor recreation, our homes and neighborhood would be less desirable.
